Biographical sketch
Prof Gubba is a plant pathologist whose research focusses on the identification and characterization of viruses infecting fruit and vegetable crops with the aim of developing sustainable strategies to control diseases caused by these viruses. Research also focuses on the use of modern biotechnology to develop transgenic crops with virus resistance. Professor Gubba is a member of the International Committee for Plant Virus Epidemiology (ICPVE). He has over 25 years’ experience in agricultural extension and research and has been involved in undergraduate teaching for over 15 years.
